Miss Taylor, a Peace Corps Volunteer, Promotes English Literacy at MTsN 1 Lumajang

Lumajang, 12 February 2025 – Miss Taylor, a volunteer from the Peace Corps who teaches English at MTsN 1 Lumajang, has initiated a literacy program to enhance students’ English language skills. One of the main efforts in this program is collaborating with friends and institutions in the United States to donate English books that can be used for learning.

This program aims to provide students with greater access to high-quality English reading materials. With the addition of these books, students are expected to improve their reading and writing skills as well as develop a broader understanding of cultural contexts in English.

The principal of MTsN 1 Lumajang, Dr. Muhammad Safik, M.Pd., welcomed this initiative. “We greatly appreciate Mss. Taylor’s efforts in supporting students’ literacy development. Access to a wider variety of reading materials will certainly bring significant benefits to them,” he said.

In addition to providing books, this program also includes various activities such as book discussions, reading classes, and creative writing projects in English. Mss. Taylor hopes that with this literacy support, students will not only learn English academically but also develop reading habits and critical thinking skills.

This program will continue to be developed in the hope of making a long-term impact on improving the quality of English language learning at MTsN 1 Lumajang.[abu angel]
